How I think taiji emptiness is

Taiji emptiness is one of the top level destinations every practitioner looks for it. And spent whole life practice try to get it. Taiji emptiness also is the top topic most good instructor or master will try to teach their student on it. And it is really a hard topic people can really explain well. I have the same experience during my learning experience.

As most good book said. There is only way is to look for good master, you can touch on their body really feel it; there is no way to understand in human langrage. I totally agree.

But now I start teaching, I have the same feeling like my master, we don’t want to wasting our student time. We wish we can give all we understanding to our student, as soon as possible, so taiji this valuable treasure of Chinese can be carry on generation by generation through all human life without lose of it. Like all my master did to me, they are never hiding anything they know, try to get me understand, they spent a lot of energy and time try to find out the way which fit me and match my availability to understanding.

Combine all my master’s teaching. I would like shoot out my understanding for every one to think about. And hope it help

From my grand master, who is water style taiji creator: master wang, zhuanghong.’s book shangshanruoshui. The book keeps talking about sinking and flowing. Talk about taiji 13 concept. Talk about relax, emptiness round full illness. From my water taiji master Lin, qiming, and my yiquan master Zhou, jindong keep adjust to me and keep telling me do not add any mind to fight, just try to feel what is the mind with no mind: what is empty but feel something still in it, it not absolutely empty with empty., it is not relaxed relax,

It is so hard to understand what it is really means, but when they adjust my poster, and feed me on, I can not feel I am using any force to move opponent balance as soon as they put my body position and my mind in the right position. How amazing it is and it really raises my interest. Combined my other master friend such as master Zhao shizhen, yiquan master and acupuncture doctor… I feel like I am putting together the parcels. about emptiness.

There are a lot of practice confusion. I spent many years try to learn how to stick together with opponent. To be full control without thinking control And also try hard to learn how to shot opponent out without using force. Songs like impossible. And my masters also keep telling me: I need believe and trust myself. For many year masters feeding me suddenly I tasted. And I realize I have to put all I learn together in the same time and unique. And once I have this I really don’t feel I am using power, because I don’t feel my bone, my muscle, my power strength. It don’t means its something out of physic, or natural law, it actually exactly follow the physics and natural law, just because my body and my mind combined together just as a perfect air balloon, I mean it is internally and externally combined as a perfectly air balloon not only externally. If I use my body my muscle only externally to be a ball, it will be a solid ball, and it will be rigid without any bounce and flexibility. But once it combined air balloon, it free to turning and free to bounce and all my bone joint so flexible and always move together just as air balloon, on point receipt a pressure, everywhere have reflected bounce pressure with the same amount. And the air balloon feeling also make me understand the air balloon have empty inside. All force tension is in the surface of the air balloon. The center of the balloon has no direction and no pressure but air if full filled. And this is one of the explanations of emptiness.

On the other hand: during I play pushing hand .I keep watching my masters and my kongfu uncle. They didn’t move a lot on their body, but every time once I touch them I will feel they are behind me about 10 feet away. So as soon I touch them I can not stand straight. I feel both of my feet off the ground. Then after they feed me I realize, they are moving their body in all direction same amount and same speed. And same time. That’s how they become an air balloon, and also they keep pumping the air into this balloon. Since I understand a little this, then I realize. How they create an emptiness by scenting same pressure at the out side skin of the air balloon, so any direct power pressure on them, their body absorb the pressure from one point, but same time they reflect same pressure out to the skin of air balloon on all direction and all point. Since this air balloon is the combination from body and mind, so this air balloon can be any size five feet or ten feed in diameter what ever depends on their level. That is why I feel being wrapped a rounded and the center behind me. But I can not feel any force from them. Which because the force on the surface of the ball is hard to feel it, doesn’t mean it is no force? And also since the force is all direction, the force towards ground being confused by force bounce up from ground. The force go against me is being confused by force pulling away from me….etc. in another words, from any touching point. The force pressure has all the same force

The third point is how to put mind reference point for setting this air balloon? To create emptiness pressure I think about there is a very common physics test when I was in middle school. Teacher use a cup, fill up water in the pot before pull out the pot he turn the cup upside down, and then keep pull the glass cup out the water, then we see the water stay in the glass without fall off. Why, because the water weight drop but the bottom of the cup will have a air space even it so small, the small air space created a same amount of sucking pressure to suck up all water , even we can not see the air space, but the emptiness is there. And that is exactly the emptiness full of the strong sucking up pressure. So it is the full filled emptiness.

I showed to my student today. About this I don’t think how to deal with the point my student push me on my arm, I put my mind think about from the pushing point, my skin in the front follow my finger pointing forward, my skin at the back of the pushing point follow my back extending backward, so the pushing point create an emptiness with full of pressure in all direction and same amount of in coming force and push back from back of my student back toward back as well. Since he only concentrates on pushing point, he will be late to feel the reflecting force shows up at his back to unbalance his balance standing.

Now we are getting into the main point. The emptiness is the point have same amount of force explode toward out in all direction, in the same time evenly. The emptiness being showed by out side pressure evenly, but nothing at the point. Which just like my grand master wang zhuanghong said, the center of the circle being identified by the premier of the circle. TThe premier of the circle being identified by the center of the circle. It is confusion but it is true.

There is a big mistake being made in a lot of good taiji practitioners, and teachers. They try to practice in the right direction without using any hard force. But actually they are turn into claps ever where on their body and their mind. Every time they feel the out side force coming in, they try to deal with it with running away from the point. Which means they are body moving away from this force point, also their mind moving away from this forcing point too? Which is so called double light, which is the same mistake as double weighted. Because the mind will stuck on the point the force at. So if the force from people has some knowledge of any kind of kongfu. People can chase in. so the running away become useless.

My master teaches me the emptiness is from this pressure reference point, extend mind at the premier of the air balloon not putting any intension at the force point. Which so called no mind, but mind every where at the surface of the balloon in all direction in same amount and same speed expansion. Not running away also not goes against, but the balloon reflection force bonking back all over to the force creator. What a beauty! What a concept of taiji.

So in conclusion, emptiness is a main point should understand to be able to practice taiji in the right way. Otherwise, either using too much force to do push hand, or relax to be claps even long time practice can not deal with any people using force to it. Understand emptiness, is the way to understand taiji jin, which is yin plus yang as a full round circle air balloon. No force is not feel force not absolute no force to make it work. All force is work follow the physics and natural law, nothing out of it. It just being confused from human sensitivity and reaction of balance.

Hope my point bring up all taiji practitioner to think and search on it.

From my learning and teaching taichi (taiji) experience. I feel like there is most common word which so confusing and hard to understand about taichi is relaxation or loosen up. It is the core of the taichi practice no matter how low or high your level is, no matter which style your practice, and no matter who is your teacher. Which taichi book you read. But year to year most of student or practitioner still don’t really understand what is it, and how do we know we are getting it from practice.

从我个人的学习经验。我觉得最难懂,但最常被提醒的,也是太极的核心,也不管是谁教你,不管你什么层次,不管哪本太极书,都是讲要松。大家的问题还是“什么是松?怎样知道松没有松?

From leaning from my great masters as I introduced before. And also restudy my learning experience from my body. I realize this is something I would like bring up and will benefit to all my taichi friend, classmate, student, or any other taichi practitioner.

从我前面提到的几位我的好师傅那里,和重新回想我学习的体验过程,我理解到以下内容,希望能对大家有些帮助。

From my under standing. Relaxation and loosen, from the word it self. It is a normal word which automatic link to our normal life experience. Then we will try to under stand it such as after work we need relax a little, if we did some heavy muscle work we need drop some tension on it. Or if we think too much we need stay out and let our brain get rest.

平时当我们一想到松,我们的意识就自动想到工作累了以后的放松,或者是肌肉疲劳后的放松。

Nothing wrong about this, but in taichi practice, all these effect just a tiny little portion of the relaxation and loosen. Most of it is talking about good ability to be aware, and good ability to move on any body joint. Nothing like taking a rest, or sleep or sitting down stare at sky doing nothing. That is why all high level master keep saying, taichi should empty but empty doesn’t means nothing their.

这并没什么不对。但这些只是太极的松的很小的一部分。太极的松要的是在头脑和身体高度放松时,对自己身体各部分及意识,在下意识状态的高度灵敏,高度平衡,高度灵活,高度认知的状态。这种状态就是太极高级师傅们嘴里常常讲到的:“太极是空的但是又不是什么都没有。”

So what is it, and how do we know when we practice.

以下是我的体会怎样知道我们自己向松练习了。

The relaxation I told my student is scan your body from head to toe to locking for the weight of your body part and the weight of your whole body. So I insist all by student before start the first movement of taichi form, you should have to do the relaxation scan, and do many time until your feel your body weight and the your gravity center and gravity center line is start stand it out.

我告诉我的学生,从头到脚扫描身体各部放松,去体会自己各个部分的重量。所以我坚持让我的学生在气势之前一定要做许多次才可以开始套路,特别是能感觉到自己的重心和重心线更好。

During this scan, you will find your self body weight start show’s up compare the normal circumstance. Because we never pay attention about our body weight in out normal life. Even it is always there.

我们的重量随时都在但是我没平时从来没有注意过。

When our mind start relax and loosen up. We will start realize the weight of our body part, you can even feel the weight of your eye lid, and then you want to drop it to block your eye sight, and you will feel you just want to drop your eye lid but not close your eye, because once you try to close your eye, you need put extra muscle strength on your eye lid which you don’t want to do.

当我们的思想放松的时候,我们会开始感受的身体的重量。甚至象自己的眼皮,我们会感到放下来舒服。但是不想闭上眼睛。因为闭上眼睛需要用眼睛周围的肌肉力量。

When you start relax scan and scan lower and lower, you will start feel your upper body weight stock at your waist and the upper weight make you feel hard to control your center and start shifting around. Then the shape of your body need to be adjusted to the shape says on taichi bible. Empty chest, straight up spin, tock in hip drop tail bone, sink shoulder and drop elbow. After this position right. Then you will feel the body weight increased and upper body weight combined with lower body weight all transfer to your feet. And then the pressure in between your feet and ground getting heavier. And more stickier.

当你从上到下扫描时,你会先感觉到上身的重量,然后会感到上身的重量停止在腰上。然后上重下轻不能站稳。这时,你需要做到“含胸拔背,收臀敛胯,沉肩坠肘”这些太极拳经中的身体状态。做到以后,你会感到重量增加了,上下身的重量连系起来了,而且重量下到脚下。这可以从你的脚和地之间的压力感去体会到。

After that, you will feel your body not shifting too much, your center line is easier to maintain because all the weight drop down lower and lower. And your will feel your head start flouting up and getting lighter and lighter. Then your center axis is getting clear and clear. Even one small part of your body move all the other body part will move together as a one unit even move in different direction but it move together and highly coordinated.

这样你就会开始觉得,身体不太晃了,重心容易保持了,这就是因为自己的重量越来越低,头越来越觉得轻飘飘的。自己的中轴线越来越清楚了,即使是身上一个小部分动了,其他的部分,都会一起动起来,哪怕动的方向不一样,但是一起动得非常协调。

That is the circumstance called relaxation and loosening up. And that is how you check and understand if you are in this circumstance to do taichi practice. Otherwise your not doing taichi at all.

这就是我对太极松的状态的理解。我会告诉我的学生,如果没有这个状态就开始套路,那打的不是太极。

太极学习心得分享Sharing some understanding of taiji practice.

今天我同朋友们又一次在一起研究学习太极拳。我们从套路的起势,这第一个动作来深入体会太极拳套路的真正打法。目的是为了懂得怎样从太极套路练习到太极内功。太极拳绝对不是太极操。我们练习太极拳而不是做太极操到底有什么好处,同其他键身操到底有什么不同的是我们慢慢会体会到的。
Today me and marvell taiji practice group practice taiji together again. We try to dig deeper from the first starting move of taiji form. We are looking for understand what is the right way to do the form practice. How to really get practice of internal kongfu of taiji. And we try to understand what is the different in between practice taiji and other body exercise.正像今天我喂劲给每一个同学,让大家体会到在打起势时需要追求的感觉。我同一位同学面对面站好。我每之手只用一个手指轻轻地放一点力量在同学的上臂,并保持这力量固定,均匀。然后让同学做我讲的起势。当同学做对了的时候,我的平衡被打破,不得不向后面倒,我没有被同学手臂推倒的力量接触感觉,那同学也没有感到推了我。没有亲身经历,亲眼看到,难以置信。我又让其他的同学把手夹在我手和同学上臂中间,当那同学的起势做对了的时候,这第三个同学的手也是没有任何受到力的感觉。但是,如果哪个同学,没有做对,这第三个同学的手会感觉到不是被力量压迫,就是同我们的接触分家。
Just like today, I feed taiji power to every friends. Give a lead for every one to feel what is the feeling when practice this move. One of the friend and I stand face to face. I use only one finger with a little push force of each hand on the other persons upper arms, and keep this pressure steady and constant. Then let him do the starting move of taiji form. When he did it right. I will lost my balance and have to lean backward. I didn’t feel he is pushing me, and he didn’t feel he is pushing me as well. If he is not experience and see it, he won’t believe it. Then I ask other friend put their hand in between my hand and the upper arm I am pushing. Then do it again. When he did it right. The other friend also can not feel any pressure change at the pushing point. But if he didn’t do it right, the other friend will feel either contact pressure getting increased or decreased.

这正是我们要研究的太极不用力,但是太极拳又常常提到借力打力的效果。这也正是我们要研究的到底太极拳的内功是什么,又是怎么练的。
This is what we try to learn and understanding what is no force in taiji but taiji book or teaching keep saying taiji borrow force to deal force. This is what we try to study what is taiji internal kongfu, and how we get it.
无数的太极老师在教学中都不停的讲,要放松要放松,所有的太极拳书籍上也都是讲放松是太极拳的核心。但是大多数好的太极拳书籍也都提到,最好是找到好的太极师傅去亲身体会才能感受到,才能有机会懂得。
Almost every taiji teacher keep talk about relax,relax. And almost all the taiji book says relax is the heart of taiji practice. But you better find good taiji teacher to feel from him, no way to find out from human word.
我和大家分享的也是我从我的几位好师傅体会来的。他们也是这样喂我劲。让我感觉到。相信大家能够记得。当我喂劲给不同的同学时,我会给不同的指令给不同的人。有的我让他想两肘向外,有的我让他头向上悬,有的我让他尾椎下垂,然后大家都能做出不用力把我推倒的效果。这就是太极拳经上讲的,“虽变化万端,却理为一贯。”也是我师公王壮弘先生所说的。“象变性不变。每个人有每个人的太极,但是只要是太极,
做到的是,松,空,圆,满。太极就都一样了”。
The sharing I did today is also get from few my great masters. They did same way to feed me. Give me a real chance and condition to feel it. I believe every one still remember when I feed different friend, I give different instruction to different one. Some I tell them think both elbow open up, some of them I tell them think head flouting up, some of them I tell them think drop their tailbone. Then they are all can make me lean back without using any force. This is what is talk about in taiji bible:“even so many different but the real natural law is same.” this is also shows like my kongfu grand master: Wang, Zhuanghong said: it look different, but inside feel keep the same, every one have their own taiji, but if it is taiji, it contain relaxation, emptiness, full filled and rounded, it will be the same.

这现象又是怎样做出来的呢?关键是把自己在放松状态下,变成一个受力均匀的太极球。也是象我另一位师公尤彭熙先生常讲的象个充满气的皮How is it happen,?the main trick is make yourself internal and externally feel like a very evenly taiji ball. It just like my other YiChuan grand master You, Penxi said. Keep yourself like a full filled air ball.

放松状态:不是我们平常想象的松。因为我们平时的松,是松懈。是断。若不想断,又反向去顶。我给不同人不同指令,就是把不同的状态都变成一个冲气皮球的松空圆满的太极球,无极球的状态。在这种状态下,做起势的同学,因为放松而自己身体借用了地球对自己的吸引力,有了沉,有因地面从脚下给了他一个同样大小的反作用的浮力,这上下相拉造成了中空在身体不动的情况下空了我的外力,或者说是圆化了我的单一放向的外力。造成我的外力挤压他的皮球面,而迫使他的皮球同时向外各方向均匀膨胀,从而向后反挤压我自身的中心,而不得不向后倒。从力上表现讲,我的单一方向的固定推力先是被球面分散,后又被球体其他部位包围,却不是在正推点被顶,而双方都不能感受到这微小的变化。The relaxation is not what we normally think. Because when we think relax, we did like claps, loss and separated. But as long as we don’t want claps, we will became go against. When I give different person different instruction, just because I can feel each of them where is the spot on their body not even, and then I make them and lead them became even, become full filled air ball. And when they are in this situation, they are in the real relaxation situation. Then they are automatic borrowed the gravity force from their own body weight. So they got sinking feel, and same time the earth give them a reflect flouting force which equal to the weight sinking force, to create a empty hollow center in between this two force. So my horizontal feeding force being dissolved. In the other word my single direction force being dissolved by a surface of ball. Then since it is a air ball even on point being pushed in as a dented area, but the other surface being created a same amount but all direction bouncing pressure to push back towards my balance center instead go against the point I am pushing. In this situation both of us can not feel any of force increase or decrease.

所以,松是要去感受身体全方位均匀受力。但不用手臂肌肉的力,而是体会自身的重量造成的脚下压力和大地给的反作用浮力在自己全身的皮球面上作用的感觉。它是松活灵便的,均匀的,有弹性的自然功能。每个人都有都能做到,但要在师傅的引领下细心体会自己的感受。习惯夹着手臂的,靠想两肘向外而做到均匀,习惯下蹲的,靠想头向上领而做到均匀,习惯向前倾斜的要靠想尾椎下垂而做到均匀。这就是我们所练的基本功,也是太极的内功核心。
So. In conclusion. Relaxation require us to feel the even force at all our body part and mind in all direction at same time. It is not just use hand or arm muscle force, it is feel our own body weight down to the bottom of our feet, and how much our weight being reflected back from the earth. It is transformed through our whole body every where and every direction. It is very flexible feel very even feel very bouncing feel. It is absolutely natural ability. Every one can do it. But it need some one can feel your situation to lead you in the right situation. Some one already used to hold two arm tied close to the body trunk , need think open to elbow to distract old feel towards the full fell feeling. Some one already get used to sit down too low, need think flouting head to distract old feel towards the full fill feeling. Some one already get used to lean forward, need think drop tail bone to distract old feeling work towards the full fill feeling. This is what we are practice which called basic fundamental practice, and it is the main focus point of taiji internal kongfu.

今天我同朋友们又一次在一起研究学习太极拳。我们从套路的起势,这第一个动作来深入体会太极拳套路的真正打法。目的是为了懂得怎样从太极套路练习到太极内功。太极拳绝对不是太极操。我们练习太极拳而不是做太极操到底有什么好处,同其他键身操到底有什么不同的是我们慢慢会体会到的。

正像今天我喂劲给每一个同学,让大家体会到在打起势时需要追求的感觉。我同一位同学面对面站好。我枚之手只用一个手指轻轻地放一点力量在同学的上臂,并保持这力量固定,均匀。然后让同学做我讲的起势。当同学做对了的时候,我的平衡被打破,不得不向后面倒,我没有被同学手臂推倒的力量接触感觉,那同学也没有感到推了我。没有亲身经历,亲眼看到,难以置信。我又让其他的同学把手夹在我手和同学上臂中间,当那同学的起势做对了的时候,这第三个同学的手也是没有任何受到力的感觉。但是,如果哪个同学,没有做对,这第三个同学的手会感觉到不是被力量压迫,就是同我们的接触分家。

这正是我们要研究的太极不用力,但是太极拳又常常提到借力打力的效果。这也正是我们要研究的到底太极拳的内功是什么,又是怎么练的。

无数的太极老师在教学中都不停的讲,要放松要放松,所有的太极拳书籍上也都是讲放松是太极拳的核心。但是大多数好的太极拳书籍也都提到,最好是找到好的太极师傅去亲身体会才能感受到,才能有机会懂得。

我和大家分享的也是我从我的几位好师傅体会来的。他们也是这样喂我劲。让我感觉到。相信大家能够记得。当我喂劲给不同的同学时,我会给不同的指令给不同的人。有的我让他想两肘向外,有的我让他头向上悬,有的我让他尾椎下垂,然后大家都能做出不用力把我推倒的效果。这就是太极拳经上讲的,“虽变化万端,却理为一贯。”也是我师公王壮弘先生所说的。“象变性不变。每个人有每个人的太极,但是只要是太极,

做到的是,松,空,圆,满。太极就都一样了”。

这现象又是怎样做出来的呢?关键是把自己在放松状态下,变成一个受力均匀的太极球。也是象我另一位师公尤彭熙先生常讲的象个充满气的皮球状态。

放松状态:不是我们平常想象的松。因为我们平时的松,是松懈。是断。若不想断,又反向去顶。我给不同人不同指令,就是把不同的状态都变成一个冲气皮球的松空圆满的太极球,无极球的状态。在这种状态下,做起势的同学,因为放松而自己身体借用了地球对自己的吸引力,有了沉,有因地面从脚下给了他一个同样大小的反作用的浮力,这上下相拉造成了中空在身体不动的情况下空了我的外力,或者说是圆化了我的单一放向的外力。造成我的外力挤压他的皮球面,而迫使他的皮球同时向外各方向均匀膨胀,从而向后反挤压我自身的中心,而不得不向后倒。从力上表现讲,我的单一方向的固定推力先是被球面分散,后又被球体其他部位包围,却不是在正推点被顶,而双方都不能感受到这微小的变化。

所以,松是要去感受身体全方位均匀受力。但不用手臂肌肉的力,而是体会自身的重量造成的脚下压力和大地给的反作用浮力在自己全身的皮球面上作用的感觉。它是松活灵便的,均匀的,有弹性的自然功能。每个人都有都能做到,但要在师傅的引领下细心体会自己的感受。习惯夹着手臂的,靠想两肘向外而做到均匀,习惯下蹲的,靠想头向上领而做到均匀,习惯向前倾斜的要靠想尾椎下垂而做到均匀。这就是我们所练的基本功,也是太极的内功核心。

Some of my thought for understanding taiji bible 1

For my practice of water taiji(tai chi)and yiquan kongfu, I have some of understanding or self interpretation for taiji(taichi) bible. Wish to share with

I feel the main understanding for taiji, is yin plus yang equal completion. This is the beginning of the taiji bible. Most taiji practitioner either only practice soft, or practice hard, only small amount of group don’t really care and judge soft and hard but pay a lot attention about feel the right point no mater in hard or in soft move.

The first sentence talk about taiji, which come from wuji, and it is the switch between move and steady, and yinyang is born from it. So what we should practice, especially in form practice and push hand practice. Are we paying attention on how much yin or how much yang will be right? Or we shouldn’t care about yin and yang but only care about what is wuji? And what feeling is the feeling of Wuji? And how we can keep the feeling of Wuji?

For the beginner or taiji form long term practitioner, how come no matter how much we practice us always fail on push hand. Because we didn’t get what we should pay attention. Most of teacher or master adjusts form by check if taiji form played pretty or not. They never feel from higher level master about feeling of wuji. That is why.

I feel the teacher should teach student from the beginning about wuji feeling from the beginning poster of the form. And doesn’t mater what form you play. And that what my master teach me. What our water taiji and yiquan root stand is learn what is wuji feeling.

Wuji is the natural balance position. It is not only left and right balance, it is not only front and back balance; it is also up and down balance. This up and down balance is our own gravity sink which create same amount of body floating because our feet supported by earth. And I will add the forth balance is inside and out side balance which means how to position our self with the surrounding environment element balancing. In another word how to feel bland in our self with the surrounding element. This brings up the twelve sentence of taiji bible said: even a fur or a bug can not lien on you, to distort your balance.

So from the beginning poster of taiji form be for we start we have to look for the feeling of our whole body part have a kind of feeling which is every where feel the same amount of pressure, if small amount which have to be same small, if it is larger amount which have to be same larger amount but combine the amount on body, we also have to feel once out side feel small amount wrap around our body, our inside will fill inflated , once our out side body feel large amount pressure surround us, our inside body will feel hollow and empty to balance the out side wrap around pressure.

All because we are keeping the Wuji feeling, either we are in the balance environment or not. The natural balance feel is there. And automatic adjust toward neutral balanced position without go through brain.

So during the form practice all we need to feel is our own gravity weight, gravity center, gravity line is in position and all our other body part also feel the same amount of our gravity weight and every where in the same amount in any direction.

As of many taiji classmate and friends request, especially people only speak English, I will try my best to translate “wang zongyue taiji bible’, and also try use my taiji learning experience and refresh my masters’s teach, put down the way I understand about this taiji bible content. Just for share and exchange with all the people have deep interest on taiji practice.

:太极者,无极而生,动静之机,阴阳之母也。

Taiji,which come from wuji, it is the switch between move and steady. It is the mother of yinyang.

:动之则分,静之则合, 无过而不及,随曲就伸。

When it start move it shows split, when it is turn to steady, it shows close up. No more no less, follow the way it come.

:人刚我柔谓之走,我顺人背谓之粘。

When the other party come strong,solid and hard force. But our side being soft and flexible, called skip run off. Our side feel natural comfortable, but other party feel being locked up and uncomfortable called stick to it.

:动急则急应,动缓则缓随。

When other come quick, we follow it quick, when other come slow, we follow it slow.

:虽变化万端,而理为一贯。

Even so many way will happen, but the theory and the way to do always stay the same.

:虚领(灵)顶颈(劲),气沉丹田,不偏不倚,忽隐忽现。

Head, neck, even shirt collar feel light and floating upward, and clear feel body gravity center which is dantian, lead body weight sinking downard. Straight without lien any direction at all. Feel like some time I am there but some time I am not there.

:左重则左虚,右实(重)则右杳.

When left come heavier, our left must empty, when right come solid, our right must feel like nothing there

:仰之则弥高,俯之则弥深。

When upward poster our mind think the highness, when downward poster, our mind look for the deepest.

When moving forward, look for far and far away, when moving backward, our look for short and sudden feel

Even a fur or a bug drop on our body will be supper accurately adjusted naturally to balance and straight position

Opposite party never know what I am doing, but I am clearly know what others will do.

That is why we always on top others no mater how it will happen.

So many similar practice, although little different form or style, but mostly stronger one on top of weaker one, faster one on top of slower one.

Check buy using four onces to deal those thousand pound, clearly not using force to go against, so it show definitely not using direct force to force, and fast, it is natural ability, not practice better and stronger force to do so.

Stand like plumb bob, easy rotate like wheel

Feel sinking will easy to follow, double weighted will cause stuck hard to turn

Always see many people practice many years but never get it. Just because they lock themselves before deal others. They don’t understand what is double weighted problem they have.

:欲避此病,需知阴阳。

For solve this problem need know yin yang.

:粘即是走,走即是粘;阴不离阳,阳不离阴;阴阳相济,方为懂劲。

Stick on to opponent is already run off straight force, runoff straight force is stick on to opponent, yin stay with yang, yang stay with yin; understand yin plus yang is a full called understand taiji jin.

:懂劲后,愈练愈精,默识揣摩,渐至从心所欲。本是舍己从人,谬以舍近求远。

After understand taiji jin, then practice in to fine tuning detail. And keep feel it until act naturally. It is actually follow opponent without holding ourselves position.

So it is small miss position nearby, will cause bigger miss place in the distance , all taiji practitioner should pay a close attention to study .that’s the reason I wrote it out.
